The UK’s biggest pod of dolphins lives in thevibrant waters of Cardigan Bay, where they are a daily sight for visitors andscientists like Sarah Perry, who moved to New Quay to study these beautifulanimals. She has been watching these dolphins for more than a decade, and is onfirst-name terms with them.

Sarah Perry is a zoologist and science officer withthe Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales as well as the Cardigan Bay MarineWildlife Centre which carries out critical research into the area’s residentdolphins and porpoises. Their work consists of activities such as boat surveysand beach cleans – last month the group – which consists of volunteers –managed to clear 1,072 pieces of litter from New Quay beach alone.
